Colorado Eagles News Release
Windsor, CO â The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League (CHL) have slimmed their roster by five, Head Coach Chris Stewart announced today.
After a weekend of victories against division rival the Oklahoma City Blazers, the time has arrived to start making cuts to narrow down the 28 man training camp roster to the league required 18 man roster for Friday's season opener against the Tulsa, Oilers. Stewart made five cuts: rookie right wing Dan Gilbertson, rookie center Colen Pappas, rookie forward Joey Bouvier, defenseman Kevin Chabbert, and rookie goalie Brian Rogers.
"It is going to be tough to cut this team down," stated Stewart. "We have a lot of skill, speed, and aggressive players on our roster. Even though these decisions are extremely difficult to make, it is a great position for a team to be in."
Stewart's "Coach's Show" will air for the first time this afternoon at 5 p.m. on 1410 AM the Zone. The show is broadcast live from Bennigans in Fort Collins. This week's "Coach's Show" will consist of commentary on the Colorado Eagles Friday and Saturday night wins, roster cuts, and a couple players will discuss the weekend's games as well.
There will be a media open house this Wednesday, October 15 from noon-2p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center in the Crossroads Club (the restaurant in the suite level of the Budweiser Events Center). Coaches and players will be present.
