Reading Royals News Release

READING, PA – The Reading Royals, the ECHL affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, have announced that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has been assigned to the club by the St. Louis Blues. Rudkowsky attended the St. Louis Blues training camp, then was reassigned to the Blues AHL affiliate, the Worcester Icecats.

Coach Clancey feels fortunate to have another #1 goaltender on the roster, "It worked out great being able to land Rudkowsky. He is a top caliber goaltender with a lot of experience which will help us up the middle.

The Royals also dealt defenseman Dominic Periard to the Fresno Falcons for future considerations. Periard appeared in the Royals home preseason game against Atlantic City, but sat out the matinee contest against the Bullies yesterday. The Quebec native is currently entering his third professional season.

"Dominic's situation is just a numbers game. We have too many D-men right now so this gives him a chance to play," Clancey said.

Jed Donahue will be LIVE at the Outside In Restaurant this Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Donahue will be hosting his radio show, "Speaking of Sports" on the Royals flagship station, ESPN Radio, 1240AM. He will feature Royals players and coach Derek Clancey, as well as, give away prizes including tickets to upcoming Royals games. The public is welcome to attend and admission is free.

The Royals face off their third season on Friday, October 17 in Trenton against the Titans. The Royals home opener is slated for Saturday, October 18 versus the expansion Texas Wildcatters. Get to the game early for the Quadrant Engineering "Wild in the Streets Block Party" beginning at 2:00 p.m. Season, half-season, mini-pack and group tickets are on sale now by calling the Reading Royals Hockey Headquarters at 35 North 6th Street in downtown Reading 610-898-7825 (PUCK) or toll free 866-789-7627 (ROAR).
