LAST WEEK: The Pride went 0-2 in a pair of pre-season contests against the Columbia Inferno. Friday night at Columbia, the Inferno jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period on their way to an 8-2 victory. Kris Carlson and Malcolm MacMillan tallied the Pride goals. Saturday night at the Lion's Den, the Pride played a better game, but still came out on the wrong end of a 3-2 score. Jade Galbraith and Wes Goldie scored for the Pride.

Friday, October 17 @ Columbia 7:30 p.m. Coverage on Sunny 105.5 at 7:10

Florence opens the 2003-2004 season against the same team that they were eliminated by in the 2003 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Pride have lost eight straight regular season and playoff games against the Inferno, being outscored 26-9 over that span. Florence is 7-9-1 all-time in the regular season against Columbia.

Saturday, October 18 v. Columbia 7:30 p.m. at the Lion's Den

The Pride and Inferno meet for the fourth time in nine days in Florence's home opener. The Pride are 5-4-0 at home against the Inferno in the regular season.

PROMOTIONS: The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive free Cheer Sticks, courtesy of Carolina Custom Truck Accessories.

Sunday, October 19 v. Florida 2:30 p.m. at the Lion's Den

The Pride wrap-up their opening weekend, taking on the Florida Everblades in the first of eight regular-season meetings. Florence was 4-3-1 against Florida last season, and is 21-13-4 against them all-time in the regular season. Over the last two seasons, the Pride are 7-1-0 at the Lion's Den against the Everblades.

PROMOTIONS: All Sunday home games this season are Kid's Sundays. Tickets for kids 12 and under are only $2.50, and kids meals are available for $2.50. Following the game, fans will have the opportunity to skate with the Pride players.

PRIDE IN THE COMMUNITY

Monday, October 13

Kris Carlson, Mark Cody and Mark McRae will be heading to North Hartsville Elementary School for a pizza party with Mrs. Von Crawford's fourth-grade class. Her class raised the most money in a fundraiser with the Morning News called "Pennies for Papers."

Monday, November 10

The Pride, Outback Steakhouse and Honda of South Carolina are teaming up for a golf tournament, with all of the proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Pee Dee Area. The tournament is at Governor's Run Golf Club in Lamar, with lunch served at 11:15, and a shotgun start at 12:30. Foursomes are filling up fast.
