Bombers Receive Connolly from Syracuse

The Dayton Bombers have announced that defenseman Sean Connolly has been assigned by the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Connolly, 23, appeared in three preseason games with Syracuse, recording two penalty minutes. A native of Flat Rock, Michigan, Connolly was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the fifth round (158th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

From 1998-2002, he manned the blueline for the Northern Michigan University hockey program. Last season, he played 32 games with the ECHL's Trenton Titans (3 G- 4 A- 7 PTS- 34 PIM) and 14 games with the AHL's Binghamton Senators (0-1-1- 6 PIM).

In other roster moves, the Bombers released forwards Greg Mizzi and Bob Miele, defenseman Nick Ouimet, and goaltender Brad Wall.

The Bombers have a full slate of activities planned for the Opening Night Extravaganza, including:

- Bomber "Banger Sticks" to every fan in attendance, courtesy of Value City Furniture, Advance Auto Parts, Pontiac, and WTUE-FM.

- A "Tailgate Bash" that will take place prior to the game (4:30 p.m.-6:30 p..m.) on the concourse outside of Gate 3 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center, featuring a live remote courtesy of WTUE-FM, music, beverages, and other prize-winning activities and fun for all ages.

- Dayton Bombers' 2003-2004 Magnetic Schedules given away to the first 5000 fans, compliments of TravelPlex, Trane Heating & Air Conditioning, and Two Men & A Truck.
