Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars (45-24-3-4, 97 Points) defeated the San Antonio Rampage (34-30-4-7, 79 Points) 4-3 in overtime on Friday night in front of 6,014 fans at Cedar Park Center. Stars Winger Francis Wathier tallied an assist and scored twice, including the game-winning goal 1:08 into overtime, as Texas improved to 23-11-1-2 at home this season. Texas center Aaron Gagnon scored a goal and added two assists, leading the Stars to their seventh victory over the Rampage in the State Farm Lone Star Face-off this year. Texas has posted nine wins in the last ten games and 14 victories in their last 17. Stars goalie Brent Krahn (17-3-0) made 33 saves in the overtime victory. Rampage goalie Josh Tordjman (15-17-2) stopped 20 of 25 in the loss. Texas continues the State Farm Lone Star Face-off at home against the Houston Aeros on Saturday, April 3rd at 7:00 PM.

San Antonio opened the scoring eight minutes into the first period after center Kyle Turris poked in a rebound past Stars goalie Brent Krahn for the 1-0 Rampage lead. Winger Mikkel Boedker's blue-line shot assisted Turris' 11th goal of the year. Texas countered at 11:49, tying the game 1-1. Defenseman Garrett Stafford powered a shot from the left point past Rampage goalie Josh Tordjman. Forward Cody Chupp notched his first point with the Stars and Aaron Gagnon also added an assist on Stafford's seventh goal of the season.

The Rampage jumped ahead 2-1 just 1:12 into the middle period. Forward MacGregor Sharp fired a shot from the high slot, beating Krahn on the stickside. Texas was quick to respond, tying up the score 2-2 at 3:19. Winger Francis Wathier scored an unassisted goal from the right-wing circle during a San Antonio power play. The shorthanded goal was Wathier's 17th this season. San Antonio took a 3-2 lead at 7:55 when forward Joel Perrault snuck the puck into the Texas net and past Krahn. Perrault's 16th goal of the season was unassisted. The Stars tied the game 3-3 during a power play in the second period. At 15:53, Gagnon found a rebound in the crease off a Dan Jancevski shot and fired the puck past Tordjman. Wathier also tallied an assist on Gagnon's team-leading 27th goal of the year.

After a scoreless third period the two teams went to overtime tied 3-3. Wathier broke the tie just 1:08 into overtime for the victory. Wathier received a pass from Gagnon in the slot and fired a wristshot past Tordjman to win the game 4-3.

Prior to the game, Texas added forward Ned Lukacevic, who has played most of the 2009-10 season with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. In 61 games with the Wranglers, Lukacevic scored 28 goals and added 37 assists for 65 points. Also, the Podgorica, Serbia native played eight games with the AHL's Providence Bruins this season, registering four points with two goals and two assists. The 24-year old was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round (#110 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, and is currently in his fourth professional season.

The Texas Stars continue the State Farm Lone Star Face-off at Cedar Park Center on Saturday, April 3rd against the Houston Aeros at 7:00 PM. The first 2,000 fans receive a Texas Stars camouflage hat. The Stars will host the San Antonio Rampage at Cedar Park Center on Tuesday, April 6th at 7:30 PM. Fans who bring an HEB Brand non-perishable food item will receive $5.00 off their ticket price.

State Farm and the Texas Stars will televise the State Farm Lone Star Face-off on Saturday, April 3rd at 7:00 PM on FSN Southwest. All games can be heard on the Stars flagship station ESPNAustin 104.9 FM "The Horn" or ESPNAustin 1530-AM.
