Monarchs Head To 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs
April 2, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, clinched a berth in the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs with their 4-1 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday night, Monarchs President Darren Abbott announced today.
2010 Calder Cup playoff tickets for the first three rounds (up to 12 games) for the Monarchs will go on sale on Monday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena box office and online at www.manchestermonarchs.com. The Monarchs win over the Sound Tigers on Friday clinched them a playoff position for the eighth time in franchise history. With the Atlantic Division's race toward the playoffs so close, the Monarchs opponent for the 2010 Calder Cup Atlantic Division Semi-Finals is undetermined.
The playoffs feature the top four teams in each of the AHL's four divisions, with one possible exception: if the fifth place team in the Atlantic Division finishes with more points than the fourth place team in the East Division, it would cross over and compete in the East Division playoffs.
Along with the box office and the Monarchs website, tickets for the first round will be available starting April 5 at Ticketmaster by calling (800) 745-3000 or by visiting Ticketmaster on-line at www.ticketmaster.com. Fans may also purchase playoff tickets at all Ticketmaster locations, including Macy's at the Mall of New Hampshire.
Individual playoff ticket prices will be $22.00 for adults in the Gold level and $16.00 for adults in the Silver level of the Verizon Wireless Arena, $20.00 for seniors (65 and older) in the Gold level and $14.00 for seniors in the Silver level and $12.00 for youth tickets (12 and under) in both levels. For group and birthday party pricing during the 2010 Calder Cup playoffs, contact the Monarchs at (603) 626-7825.
Fans can take part in the Pay As We Play program and receive their tickets at a discounted rate for each home game, through the first three rounds (up to 12 total games), with no payment up front. The Monarchs will only charge a fan's credit card on the day of each home game the Monarchs play this playoff season. Fans pay only when the Monarchs play!
The Monarchs host the Providence Bruins at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. It's Fan Appreciation Night as the Monarchs thank those who have cheered them along all season with giveaways all night long! The first 3,500 fans to Saturday's game will receive a Monarchs tumbler, courtesy of Pepsi, and the final poster of the five part series. Fans can also help Put Hunger On Ice during Saturday's game by bringing in non-perishable food items to donate to the New Hampshire Food Bank. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGAM 900/1250 AM and at www.manchestermonarchs.com.
