
P-Bruins Defeat Sharks 3-1

Providence Bruins News Release
Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins defeated the Worcester Sharks 3-1 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Devin Timberlake and two goals from Maxime Sauve. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Team Poster Night against the Springfield Falcons.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 advantage at the 3:32 mark of the opening period, while on the power play. Joe Colborne had the puck behind the net and worked it up the boards to Jeff Penner. He passed the puck to Sauve, who netted his first professional goal. Providence led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Providence made it 2-0 at the 12:15 mark of the second period. Brian Roloff had the puck along the boards and sent it into the corner for Alain Goulet. He put a shot towards the goal and Timberlake poked the puck into the net for his second goal of the season. Worcester pulled within a goal at the 13:12 mark. T.J. Trevelyan tallied his 26th goal of the season, while Ryan Vesce and James Marcou recorded the assists. The P-Bruins led 2-1 going into the second intermission.
The P-Bruins added an insurance goal at the 8:42 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Colborne sent the puck into the zone for Jordan Knackstedt. He found Sauve cutting towards the net, who scored his second goal of the game and the season. Providence went onto the 3-1 victory.
Dany Sabourin stopped 48 of 49 shots for the P-Bruins, while Alex Stalock made 23 saves for the Sharks. The P-Bruins were 2-for-6 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
Providence heads on the road Saturday to the Verizon Wireless Arena against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 4:00 p.m. versus the Portland Pirates.
