ORLANDO, Fla. - Mike Monfredo scored the game-winning goal in the second period, while Cal Heeter made 30 saves to guide the Orlando Solar Bears (24-25-5-1) to a 3-1 win over the Florida Everblades (36-12-1-4) in a Wawa Sunshine Cup Series game on Friday night at Germain Arena.

The Solar Bears remain in fourth place (54 points) in the South Division. Orlando sits three points behind third-place Atlanta with two games in hand; the Solar Bears remain ahead of fifth-place Norfolk by six points with the same number of games played.

ON THE SCORESHEET

Kristian Pospisil opened the scoring with his 11th of the season on the power play just 1:42 into the first period when he snapped a Max Novak rebound past Callum Booth.

Mike Monfredo chased down his own rebound to give Orlando a 2-1 lead at 2:18 of the second period. The unassisted goal was Monfredo's fifth of the season.

Joshua Winquist sealed the game win an empty-net tally at 19:28 of the third period.

Max Novak picked up the primary assist on Pospisil's goal, and set up Winquist's empty-net goal.

Sam Jardine tacked on the secondary assist on Pospisil's goal.

Cal Heeter earned his 14th victory of the season with 30 saves on 31 shots against.

NOTABLES

Orlando went 2-for-7 on the power play and a perfect 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

Pospisil led Orlando with five shots on goal.
