Utah Grizzlies News Release

Anchorage, Alaska - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced today that defenseman Andy Sertich has been recalled to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Grizzlies are the proud ECHL affiliate of the Sound Tigers and the NHL's New York Islanders.

Sertich leaves Utah with three goals and 14 assists in 29 games. He is tied for the team lead with eight power-play points (one goal, seven assists).

The second-year pro and former Pittsburgh Penguins draft pick makes his first trip to the AHL after appearing in every Utah game since the start of the 2006-2007 season.

Last year, Sertich was named an ECHL All-Star, finishing the year with seven goals and 40 assists in 72 games. In 06-07, 29 (5 goals, 24 assists) of his points came on the power-play to lead Utah.

The Grizzlies have had nine total players promoted to the Sound Tigers this season.

The Grizzlies return to action tonight in Alaska in the rubber game of the three-game series. Face-off is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. Utah returns home Friday, January 11 hosting Idaho at the E-Center at 7:05 p.m.
