Rays Sting Inferno 3-1

The South Carolina Stingrays defeated the Columbia Inferno, 3-1, in front of 4,992 fans on New Year's Eve.

Owen Fussey scored the only goal for the Inferno at 9:29 of the first period with assists to Brad Ralph and Dan Glover. The Stingrays tied the game at 14:01 into the first. Judy scored the go ahead goal for the Rays at 2:25 of the second period and MacLean scored 7:34 of the third period for the insurance goal.

Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis stopped 25 of 28 shots on goal for the Inferno. The Inferno outshot the Stingrays 30-28.

The Inferno return home on Wednesday, January 2 for a 1:05 p.m. start against the Gwinnett Gladiators. Tickets will be available for purchase starting at 11:00 at the Carolina Coliseum Box Office.
