Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, WV - The Dayton Bombers (14-8-4-3=35) scored twice in the final nine minutes of the third period to beat the Wheeling Nailers (9-19-1-2=21) 3-2 at WesBanco Arena. Masahito Nishiwaki knocked the game winner out of the air with less than four minutes on the clock.

Wheeling led twice in the game, scoring first at 13:22. Joe Jensen wristed one past Jeremy Duchesne for his fourth goal of the season from Chris Brooks and Aaron Boogaard.

Chanse Fitzpatrick tied the game with a wrist shot of his own at 17:53. Brad Bonello picked up his first, of two, assists on the play.

The only goal of the second period belonged to the Nailers' Ned Havern. He notched his team leading 13th of the year on a drop pass from Sean Collins. It gave Wheeling a 2-1 lead heading to the third.

A give-and-go between Mike Berry and Bonello allowed Berry to streak towards the goal and tie the game at 11:18 of the third. Nishiwaki scored the game winner at 16:39 on a rebound from Grant Goeckner-Zoeller.

An uneventful night on special teams saw the Nailers 0-for-9 and the Bombers 0-for-5. Martin Houle stopped 25 shots in a losing effort while Duchesne made 33 saves in the win.
