
Rampage Lose to Flames 6-2

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (Jan. 6, 2015) - Rocco Grimaldi extended his point streak to five games, but the San Antonio Rampage (19-12-3-0) couldn't overcome a four-goal deficit, falling 6-2 to the Adirondack Flames (22-14-1-1) Tuesday night.
The Flames tallied the first goal of the game, as Sena Acolatse lit the lamp off a Rampage turnover at 10:29 for the lone tally of the opening period.
Rocco Grimaldi got San Antonio on the board in the second stanza, tying the game at one with a shot from just inside the blue line that went right by the pads of Joni Ortio and in. Tyler Wotherspoon gave the Flames their second lead of the game just 1:19 later, converting off a pass by Turner Elson, to make it a 2-1 game. Corbin Knight put Adirondack up by two with a goal from the high slot at 16:17, and Hathaway made it a 4-1 game with less than a minute to go in the second period.
Michael Houser entered the game in relief of Dan Ellis to start the final period. Ben Hanowski notched the Flames' fourth stinger of the game just 41 seconds into the frame. David Wolf got the sixth goal of the game and his sixth of the season, which would stand as the final goal of the game for Adirondack. Andrew Yogan scored his fourth goal of the season and second in the last four games to account for the final 6-2 score.
Ellis finished with 29 saves on 33 shots while Houser stopped 13-of-15 shots. Joni Ortio made 36 saves on 38 shots. Adirondack's 48 shots on goal marks a season high for shots allowed by the Rampage.
KEY STATS
Grimaldi's goal extends his point streak to five games, and he has recorded three goals and eight assists over San Antonio's last seven games. Stephan Vigier tallied his second assist of the road trip with the helper on Yogan's third-period tally.
After a four-game streak in which they recorded two power-play goals per game, the Rampage came up empty with the man-advantage, going 0-for-4 on the night.
LINEUP NOTES
The Rampage lineup remained the same from Saturday's game in Toronto, as Steven Kampfer paired with Blake Parlett on defense and Garrett Wilson, Ryan Martindale and Bobby Butler skated as San Antonio's top line.
