Alex Bolduc Named to 2015 AHL All-Star Roster

Springfield, MA - The Portland Pirates, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announce that Pirates center Alex Bolduc has been named to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino.

Bolduc currently leads the Pirates with 10 goals and 11 assists for a total of 21 points on the season. He had a four-game point streak from October 18-25 where he scored three goals and two assists for five points.

Bolduc, who is 29 years old and from Montreal, Quebec, is in his tenth professional season and played in his five-hundredth professional game on Saturday, January 3 in the Pirates victory over the Providence Bruins. He was named the Pirates' Most Valuable Player for the 2012-2013 season and was selected the Portland Pirates 20th Anniversary First Team.

This is the first appearance on an AHL All-Star roster for Bolduc. He is the forty-eighth Portland Pirates player to be named to the AHL All-Star Classic. The 2015 All-Star selections include four former Pirates: Chris Bourque (Hartford), Tim Kennedy (Hershey), T.J. Brennan (Rockford), and Cal O'Reilly (Utica). Eastern Conference assistant coach Roy Sommer, who is the head coach of the Worcester Sharks, formerly played for the Maine Mariners.

Players from each of the fifteen teams of the Eastern Conference were represented on the roster. The All-Star Classic Presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino will take place on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26 at Utica Memorial Auditorium in Utica, New York. The skills competition will take place on Sunday, while the All-Star game will happen on Monday.
