NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

The Chicago Wolves made the transition from 2014 to 2015 last week, collecting a 1-1-1-0 record and three of a possible six points. The team is nestled in second place in the Midwest Division, six points behind division-leading Rockford with Grand Rapids and Milwaukee creeping up in third and fourth places, respectively. The Wolves will look to stave off the Griffins in their lone tilt this week as they travel Saturday to Van Andel Arena, where they are undefeated in two tries this season. Chicago is 3-0-1-0 overall against Grand Rapids in 2014-15, but the lone loss came in the teams' last meeting (Dec. 30).

WOLVES HEADLINERS

--- MATT CLIMIE: Started all three games for the Wolves last week and has played the last 223 minutes in net for the team, stopping 115 of 121 shots in that stretch for a 1.61 goals-against average and .950 save percentage ... Moved into second place on the franchise's list of all-time goaltenders on Jan. 3 with his 128th game played for the team ... Now ranks second or tied for second in all six franchise goaltending categories (games played, wins, minutes, saves, shutouts, and assists) ... Has compiled a 8-8-3 record, 2.41 goals-against average, and .911 save percentage in 20 appearances this season

--- JAKE CHELIOS: Posted two points (G, A) last week, including his first AHL goal in Friday's win over Hamilton ... Has accrued 13 assists and 14 points in 23 games this season, the highest points-per-game rate (0.61) among defensemen and fourth overall on the team ... Sits second on the team in assists and second among team blueliners in points ... Nine of his helpers have come on the power play, tying him for second-most man-advantage assists among AHL rookies ... In his first full season as a pro following his collegiate career at Michigan State University

--- PAT CANNONE: Collected two assists, both coming Jan. 2 versus Hamilton, to rank just one point behind TY RATTIE for the team lead ... Has garnered 22 points (6G, 16A) in 35 games for the Wolves, leading the squad in helpers ... Is on pace to surpass his AHL career high (19+24=43 in 76 games), set his rookie season in 2011-12 with Binghamton ... Serving as one of two alternate captains for Chicago, joining BRENT REGNER (C) and COLIN FRASER (A) ... Has totaled 56 points (22G, 34A) in 94 games with Chicago since joining the team via free agency last season

--- MAGNUS PAAJARVI: Appeared in all three games for the Wolves after being loaned on Dec. 30, playing on the top lines and getting looks in all situations, including the power play and three-on-three overtime ... Was held scoreless but was on the ice for three of the four goals the Wolves collected last week and not on the ice for any of the seven against ... Posted seven shots and a +1 plus/minus rating in three contests ... Has accumulated 45 points (11G, 34A) in 75 career AHL games with Oklahoma City (2011-13) and Chicago (2014-present)

WOLF TRACKS

--- The rosters for the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino (Jan. 25-26 in Utica, N.Y.) were released on Tuesday and included Wolves right wing TY RATTIE. It will be his first AHL All-Star appearance. In addition JOHN ANDERSON will join Travis Green behind the Western Conference bench as league president and CEO David Andrews' coaching selection.

--- Center COLIN FRASER made his NHL season debut last week, appearing in one game for St. Louis before being returned on loan. The forward missed one game for the Wolves (Jan. 2) during his stint with the Blues.

--- Forward JOHN McCARTHY was recalled by St. Louis but did not appear in a game, however the winger skated in his 350th professional tilt (87 NHL, 265 AHL as of Jan. 6) with the Wolves on Dec. 30.

--- The Wolves were shut out by Rockford on Saturday and will have plenty of chances to avenge the loss as they face the IceHogs four more times in January (twice at Allstate Arena, twice at the MetroCentre).

--- Despite holding a better record at home, the Wolves boast the third-best goal differential in the league on the road at +11. They trail only Manchester (+16) and Rockford (+15).

--- Chicago, Hamilton, Texas, and Utica remain as the lone four teams in the AHL not to have gone to a shootout this season, although the Wolves and Bulldogs were 42.6 seconds away from one last week. The longest in a season the Wolves had previously gone without a shootout was 16 games (2006-07).

--- The Wolves have allowed 30 or more shots in the last four games and six times since Dec. 7. They had previously only allowed 30+ shots six times total from Oct. 11 to Dec. 7. This is the longest span of surrendering 30+ shots since a seven-game stretch from April 6-19, 2013.

--- Chicago and Utica are the only two teams not to have dropped a contest when leading after either of the first two periods. Chicago is 9-0-0-0 when leading after one and 16-0-0-0 when leading after two.

BOOKS WITH BROADHURST

The Wolves continue the 20th season of the Read to Succeed program, presented by Butternut Bread and J.U.L.I.E., Inc., this week as TERRY BROADHURST appears Thursday at the Chicago Ridge Public Library. --- The Wolves allowed 30 shots through the first two periods and could not rally despite unleashing 18 of their own in the final frame and were shut out 3-0 in an Illinois Lottery Cup tilt at Allstate Arena

--- Goaltender MICHAEL LEIGHTON turned aside all 31 Wolves shots he faced and the IceHogs shut down all three of Chicago's power-play chances in the loss

--- Goaltender MATT CLIMIE stopped 35 of 37 shots

Friday, Jan. 2

(at) Chicago 3, Hamilton 2 (OT)

--- Defenseman BRENT REGNER scored with 42.6 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Wolves to a 3-2 victory at Allstate Arena

--- Forward SHANE HARPER scored in the first period and defenseman JAKE CHELIOS followed it up in the middle frame with his first AHL goal to give Chicago a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes

--- Goaltender MATT CLIMIE posted 33 saves in 66-plus minutes to earn the win

Tuesday, Dec. 30

Grand Rapids 2, (at) Chicago 1 (OT)

--- The Wolves rallied from a one-goal deficit to tie it in the third period and send the game to overtime, but surrendered the winning goal 2:47 into the extra session in a 2-1 overtime loss at Allstate Arena

--- Forward JEREMY WELSH registered the lone goal for the Wolves, a power-play tally, for his fourth marker in as many games

--- Goaltender MATT CLIMIE stopped 29 of 31 shots in the contest
