SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American Hockey League (AHL) has announced that Chris Wagner has been named to the 2015 AHL All-Star Team. Wagner will participate in the All-Star Game to be held January 25-26 in Utica, N.Y.

Wagner, 23, has nine goals and eight assists and is two points away from the team lead, in 13 fewer games. Over his last eight outings, the Wellesley, Massachusetts native has contributed six points (one goal, five assists) and just two penalty minutes. Wagner is no stranger to accolades this year. He was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week in the season ' s first week for his four goals in the first two contests; he also notched seven points in seven games during the same month. The 6-foot, 200-pounder leads the team in shorthanded goals (2) and in points-per-game (.83) through his 21 games. His hat trick in the season opener consisted of two goals during the penalty, making him one of only two players in Admirals' history to score two shorthanded goals in one game (C. Corazzini).

The Admirals begin their four-game road trip tonight against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at 7:05 p.m. on 1650 AM WHKT, and won ' t return to Scope Arena until January 16.
