Ponce de Leon Signed, Assigned to Knights

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights announced two roster moves ahead of the team's 6:35 p.m. game against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Wednesday, April 12.

RHP Daniel Ponce de Leon was signed by the Chicago White Sox and was assigned to the Charlotte Knights roster today. Ponce de Leon, 31, split the 2022 season between three organizations (Detroit, Seattle and Washington). He was originally selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the ninth round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.

LHP Garrett Davila was assigned to the Double-A Birmingham Barons today. Davila, 26, was promoted to the Charlotte Knights on April 8 from Double-A Birmingham and made two appearances with the Knights. A native of nearby Belmont, NC and a product of South Point High School, he went 0-0 with a 6.00 ERA in 3.0 innings pitched with the Knights this year.
