Nailers Make Roster Moves

Wheeling, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the proud AA affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced that defenseman Jon D' Aversa has been assigned to the Nailers from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He is expected to be available for tonight's game.

The Nailers have also announced that forward Chris Capraro has been traded to Florida to complete the trade from November that brought defenseman Cleve Kinley to Wheeling.

D'Aversa, 23, appeared in 14 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting one assist and 23 penalty minutes.

The native of Richmond Hill, Ontario made his professional debut with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on October 20, 2007. He has appeared in 109 career games with the Penguins, totaling 30 points (5+25). He set career professional highs in 2008-09 with 22 assists and 23 points, finishing second among defensemen in scoring. D'Aversa also appeared in 28 games with the Nailers from 2007-2009, recording 28 points (2+26). He represented the Nailers at the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game in Stockton, CA, tallying two goals for the American Conference squad.

D'Aversa was signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent on May 25, 2007.

Capraro is a 26 year old from Medford, Mass. who scored 5 goals and 22 points with the Nailers in 25 games.

Kinley began the season with Florida and played 8 games for the Everblades before being traded to the Nailers for future considerations. He first suited up for the Nailers on November 20th. Chris Capraro represents the $B!F(Bfuture considerations' portion of the deal and completes the trade.

The Nailers are back in action this weekend with a pair of home games. Friday night against Cincinnati. Fans can receive $4 off any red, gold or platinum level ticket thanks to the team's Blizzard Special offering $1 off for each inch of snow received. Friday's game is against the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:35.

The Nailers play again on Saturday night against the Johnstown Chiefs. The first 1,000 kids age 14 and younger receive a Nailers backpack courtesy of BB&T.
