
Jackals Receive Goaltender Chiodo, Loan Gratchev

The Elmira Jackals announced Friday that they have been assigned goaltender Andy Chiodo (pronounced "key-OH-doe") from their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Additionally on Friday, the Jackals loaned winger Maxime Gratchev to the Senators. Elmira hosts Florida on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena.
Chiodo, a Toronto, Ontario native, is 5-10-0 with the Senators this season with a 3.07 goals-against average and a.901 save percentage. His most recent action in the ECHL came in 2005-2006 with the Wheeling Nailers, posting a record of 8-4-2, a goals-against average of 2.84, and a save percentage of.897.
Chiodo spent each of the last three seasons playing abroad and played with the Belarus-based Minsk Dynamo of the Kontinental Hockey League in 2008-2009.
Gratchev is second in the ECHL in rookie scoring with 34 points and was selected to play for the American Conference in the upcoming 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario.
