Notes
The Nailers have been assigned defenseman Jon D'Aversa from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for tonight's game. He also played in 3 games with the Nailers last year while spending the bulk of the season in the AHL. He had played in 14 games with WBS this year recording one assist.
The Nailers have traded forward Chris Capraro to the Florida Everblades. The deal completes a trade in which the Nailers received defenseman Cleve Kinley for future considerations back in mid-November.
Forward Aaron Clarke and defenseman Dan Henningson are on the injured-reserve list for the Nailers.
Congratulations to Mitch Ganzak who has been selected to play for the American Conference at the ECHL All-Star Game on January 20th in Ontario, California. Ganzak has 16 assists this year to tie for 3rd in the league among defensemen.
The Nailers won a 3-2 thriller over the Toledo Walleye on New Year's Eve led by Chris Capraro's 2 goals and T.J. Fox's 11th goal of the year. Michael-Lee Teslak played one of the finest games in net on the season to close out 2009 making 30 saves on 32 Walleye shots.
Wheeling made it over the.500 mark for the first time this season on December 30th. Then racked up another December win on New Years' Eve against Toledo. The Nailers went 10-5-0 in December.
