Campbell Named AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for December

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that forward Trent Campbell has been named the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for December along with Ben Gordon of the Reading Royals, Chris Capraro of the Wheeling Nailers and defenseman Ryan Constant of the Stockton Thunder.

Campbell, 27, scored even or better in 11 of 13 games in December, including a month-high +3 in a 4-0 shutout win over Charlotte on December 13. The Beauval, SASK native leads the Stingrays with 20 assists and is tied for fourth with 28 points. Campbell helped the Stingrays finish 11-2-0 for the month including a nine-game winning streak. The Stingrays forward led the team 13 assist and was second with 17 points.

Campbell joined the Stingrays as a rookie in 2007-08 and has 114 points (40g, 74a) and 84 penalty minutes in 122 regular season games and 38 points (12g, 26a) in 43 Kelly Cup Playoff games. He has also played in the American Hockey League where he has 16 points (6g, 10a) and 10 penalty minutes in 36 games with Worcester and Portland. Prior to turning pro, Campbell played four seasons at Lake Superior State University scoring 90 points (36g, 54a) and 102 penalty minutes in 153 games.

The Stingrays finish their three-game road trip Saturday, January 9 in Gwinnet to face the Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. Listen to the game LIVE at www.stingrayshockey.com!
