
Wranglers Snapped by Reign in OT, 3-2

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (15-14-4, 34 Points) were defeated by the Ontario Reign (14-17-5, 33 Points) 3-2 in overtime in front of 4,932 fans Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Reign forward Jon Francisco scored with 35 seconds remaining in overtime to give Ontario the win. Center Tim Kraus and defenseman David Walker also scored for the Reign. Ontario goalie Curtis Darling stopped 37 of 39 shots, improving to 11-12-4 this season. Left wing Ned Lukacevic led the way for Las Vegas notching two goals, as the Wranglers six-game winning streak was snapped. Goalie Michael Ouzas made 27 saves in the overtime loss. The Wranglers will host the Ontario Reign on Saturday, January 9th, at 7:05 p.m. at the Orleans Arena.
Ontario opened the scoring with a goal 12:36 into play from center Tim Kraus. Kruas snapped in a wrist shot from the right circle for his sixth goal on the season and the 1-0 Reign lead. Las Vegas evened the score with a goal from left wing Ned Lukacevic with 2:34 remaining in the first period. Center Josh Prudden set up Lukacevic's 11th goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.
The Wranglers pulled ahead with a power-play goal from Lukacevic at 5:49 of the second period. Prudden and forward Shay Stephenson assisted on Lukacevic's second goal of the game for the 2-1 Las Vegas lead.
With just 1:08 remaining in the third period, Ontario defenseman David Walker scored to tie the game for Ontario. Walker snapped in his fourth goal of the season to tie the game up at 2-2 and force overtime.
In overtime, Ontario Captain Jon Francisco tipped in a shot with 35 seconds remaining to give Ontario the 3-2 win. Defenseman Andrew Martens and center Robert Pearce set up Francisco, snapping a seven-game winless streak for the Reign.
