Marlies Drop Amerks 3-2 at Ricoh Coliseum

November 30, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Toronto Marlies News Release

The Toronto Marlies defeated the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, by a score of 3-2 this afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum.

Jamie Tardif opened the scoring at 7:16 of the first period. The Marlies would respond before the end of the frame on a shorthanded tally from Sam Carrick. John-Michael Liles gave Toronto their first lead of the game on a powerplay at 14:19 of the middle frame. Tyler Biggs notched his second goal of the season with less than four minutes remaining in the period. Matt MacKenzie would tally an early third period goal, but the Amerks were unable to tie the game.

The Marlies return to the ice on Thursday night when they travel to Cleveland for a 7 p.m. game against the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.
