Coyotes Sign Gilbert Brule to One-Year, Two-Way Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Gilbert Brule to a one-year, two-way contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 5-foot-11, 187-pound Brule has recorded 6-2-8 with four penalty minutes (PIM) in eight games with the Portland Pirates (AHL) this season. Brule registered 5-9-14 with a plus-seven rating in 33 games with the Coyotes in 2011-12.

In parts of seven NHL seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Edmonton Oilers and Coyotes, the 26-year-old native of Edmonton, AB has played in 296 regular season games, collecting 43-52-95 and 154 PIM. He has also appeared in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games, totaling 2-1-3.

Brule was originally drafted by the Blue Jackets in the first round (sixth overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft.
