Pensacola, FL - The 2004-2005 Brabham Cup Champion Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that center Luke Fulghum (pronounced Full-Jum) has been assigned to the Ice Pilots from the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.
Fulghum, who stands 5'11" and weighs 190 pounds, helped the University of Denver win back to back national championships last season by scoring 21 goals, 18 assists for 39 points and picked up 12 penalty minutes in 41 games played. He also played in two games last year for St. John's of the AHL picking up one assist.
Fulghum played in a total of 159 games at the University of Denver from 2001-2005 scoring 51 goals, 51 assists for 102 points picking up 52 penalty minutes. He also played for Waterloo and Dubuque in the USHL. Fulghum is 24 years old from Colorado Springs, Colorado and shoots right.
The Ice Pilots begin training camp tomorrow with physicals at the Pensacola Civic Center beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the first on-ice workout is Sunday from 10 a.m. Noon. All practices are at the Pensacola Civic Center and open to the public.
The Ice Pilots will play two preseason games on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15 vs. Gwinnett at 7:05 p.m. Cost of tickets to the Ice Pilots preseason home games are $11 for lower level tickets and $6 for upper level tickets. Fans can purchase individual tickets for the Ice Pilots preseason games in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, charge by phone at 434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com.
The Ice Pilots season opener is at home vs. the Greenville Grrrowl on Friday, October 21 at 7:05 p.m. and will also play home to the Gwinnett Gladiators on Saturday, October 22 at 7:05 p.m.
