Naumenko recalled as Bombers open training camp

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL opened training camp today as players reported for physicals at 7:00 AM. The first on-ice session of the new season featured ten forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.

Veteran netminder GREGG NAUMENKO was recalled and signed by the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves on Friday. The second goaltender at Bombers camp today was Tyler Mittlestead, who has dressed as an emergency back-up for Dayton each of the past two seasons.

The following players participated in the first day of camp: Forwards Steve Dix, Chris MacPhee, A.J. MacLean, Scott Cameron, Matt Herneisen, Justin Laverdiere, Joey Grasso, Kyle Musselman, Jeff Szwez and Mike Nelson. Defensemen Tyler Scott, Christoff Rosenberg, Tyson Teplitsky, Bryan Nathe, Bryan Lewis, Alexander Syrtsov and Alex Johnstone. Goaltenders Mike Ayers and Tyler Mittlestead.

The following players have been assigned to the Dayton Bombers, and are expected to arrive this weekend: Cody Doucette, Brett Nowak, Brian Gornick and Tyler Kolarik.

The 15th training camp in Bombers franchise history continues with practices at the Nutter Center on Saturday afternoon (1:15-2:30 PM), Sunday morning (8:00 AM), and Monday morning (8:00 AM). The team will leave Monday afternoon for two exhibition games in Anchorage, Alaska.
