
'Blades sign final two, Training Camp roster set

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forwards Sean Stefanski and Joel Ward have signed contracts for the 2005-06 season. The signings complete the Everblades roster heading into training camp next week.
Stefanski joins the Everblades after spending the 2004-05 season with Lakehead Univeristy in Thunder Bay Ontario, where he picked up nine points (3g, 6a) in 19 games. Prior to last season, the 22-year-old rookie spent four years in the Ontario Hockey League with six different clubs. Stefanski split the 2003-04 campaign between Sault-Ste. Marie and Sudbury, beginning the season with Sault-Ste. Marie by scoring a goal and an assist in four games, then finishing the year with 33 points (14g, 19a) in 59 games with Sudbury. The Peterborough, Ont. native put together his best numbers at the junior level in 2002-03 when he tallied 48 points (22g, 26a) and picked up 151 penalty minutes in 64 games with the Sault-Ste. Marie Greyhounds. During his junior career, Stefanski also skated with Oshawa (2000-02) Owen Sound (2001) and Kingston (2002).
Ward signs with the Everblades after spending the past three seasons at the collegiate level with the University of Prince Edward Island. In 2004-05, the 25-year-old notched 38 points (14g, 24a) in 27 games. In this three-year collegiate career, Ward tallied 91 points in 68 games. In 2000-01, the Toronto, Ont. native made his professional debut by appearing in eight playoff games with the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the West Coast Hockey League. Prior to that, Ward spent four seasons in the OHL with Owen Sound scoring 152 points in 235 games. Ward's best season at the junior level came in 2000-01 when he scored 26 goals and added 36 assists in 67 games.
Stefanski and Ward round out the Everblades roster heading into training camp on Oct. 10, bringing the roster to 21. The Everblades training camp roster is attached with this release.
