
Las Vegas stops Roadrunners 5-3

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Phoenix Roadrunners 5-3 in front of 4,424 fans at the Orleans Arena on Friday night. Center Matt Dzeiduszycki (Zhay-Doo-Shet-Ski) and Todd Alexander led the Wranglers with two goals each. Las Vegas goalie Mark Magliarditi made 16 saves to push his record to 3-1 on the season. Phoenix goaltender Mike Mole paced the Roadrunners with 33 saves. The Wranglers head to Bakersfield tomorrow night to face the Condors at 7:00 pm.
In the first period, the Wranglers scored first as Matt Dzeiduszycki tallied his first goal of the season at 8:49. Just over a minute later Steve Crampton scored to make it a 2-0 Las Vegas after one.
After a scoreless second, Phoenix scored their first goal of the night, as former Wrangler Dave Cousineau scored to make it a 2-1 game. The Wranglers countered just three minutes later as Dzeiduszycki scored his second power-play goal of the game at 4:35. Winger Todd Alexander scored his first goal of the night at 8:34 of the third period, putting the Wranglers ahead 4-1. Defenseman Taylor Christie scored for Phoenix on the power play minutes later, cutting the lead to 4-2. Just over a minute later, BJ Gaustad scored his third goal of the season to bring the Roadrunners within a goal at 4-3. Alexander scored an empty-net goal with thirty-seconds left in the game to seal the win for Las Vegas.
The Wranglers return from Bakersfield on Tuesday, November 8th at 7:05 pm against the Fresno Falcons. Las Vegas will then host the Bakersfield Condors at 7:05 pm on Friday, November 11th and Saturday, November 12th. The Wranglers will hand out 5,000 mouse pads prior to the game on November 11th and the Fire and Ice Dance Team will perform on Saturday, November 12.
