(MEMPHIS, TN) -- Lenyn Sosa, Blake Rutherford and Mark Payton all homered to lead the Charlotte Knights to an amazing 12-6 win over the Memphis Redbirds in game three of the six-game series from AutoZone Park in Memphis, TN on Thursday night. With the win, the Knights took a 2-1 lead in the series. The Knights have also won nine of the last 14 games.

Sosa hit his fifth home run of the season with the Knights, a solo home run in the fifth inning. The home run was Charlotte's first run of the game and the team trailed 6-0 after the first five innings. In the sixth, the Knights broke the game open, scoring seven runs to take an 8-6 lead. The inning was highlighted by a two-run single from Sosa and a three-run home run from Rutherford. The home run was the 12th of the season for Rutherford.

Charlotte's seven-run sixth inning proved to be more than enough to guide the team to a remarkable come-from-behind win on Thursday night.

The Knights continued to score, however, adding four more runs over the final four innings. Payton launched his team-leading 20th home run of the season in the ninth inning. He finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs scored, the home run and three RBIs. He leads the team in home runs (20), RBIs (75) and batting average (.291).

LHP Kyle Kubat (6-3, 5.38) earned the win for the Knights on Thursday night, his sixth win of the season and second straight. Kubat allowed six runs on seven hits over five innings to notch the game three win. In relief, the Charlotte bullpen combined to hold the Redbirds scoreless over the final four innings.

Designated hitter Micker Adolfo extended his hitting streak to 12 games and had a two-hit night for the Knights, who scored 12 unanswered runs to go on for the commanding win on Thursday night. First baseman Zach Remillard added a three-hit night and second baseman Yolbert Sánchez had two hits.

The Knights will continue the six-game road series against the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals) on Friday night from Memphis, TN. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. ET from AutoZone Park. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and www.CharlotteKnights.com.
