
Freddy Fermin Goes off for Career-Night in 13-8 Win

PAPILLION, Neb. - Catcher Freddy Fermin had a career-high six RBIs, helping snap Omaha's four game losing streak. Fermin now has five home runs this series, and seven during the month of August.
The Storm Chasers took game four 13-8, with the RailRiders leading the series 3-1.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (56-64) started the scoring by capitalizing on an Omaha error, scoring four unearned runs in the first inning. Chris Owens topped off the frame with a two-run home run to open the 4-0 lead.
The RailRiders added three more in the third, scoring on a Josh Breaux RBI single and a Chris Owings two-run home run to take a 7-0 lead.
Omaha (65-56) earned their first hit in the fourth, juicing the bases on a pair of walks and a hit batter for Fermin. Fermin proceeded to clear the bases with a grand slam, the sixth Storm Chaser to hit a grand slam and the first since July 17.
Left-hander Drew Parrish started for Omaha, allowing three earned runs and four unearned runs on five hits in 4.0 innings of work.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre put another insurance run up in the sixth before Omaha erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the frame. Fermin hit his second home run of the night, scoring right fielder Brewer Hicklen. Fermin earned six RBIs between the two home runs, the first Storm Chaser to record a six-RBI game this season.
The Storm Chasers kept going, using a groundout from center fielder Dairon Blanco and a single from second baseman Iván Castillo to score two more runs and tie the score at 8-8. First baseman Nick Loftin hit an RBI single to give the Storm Chasers the lead. Hicklen hit a homer, his 24th of the season, to put the score at 12-8 after six innings.
Blanco hit a double in the seventh before stealing his International League-leading 34th base of the season. I. Castillo hit a sacrifice fly to plate Blanco and put the Storm Chasers ahead 13-8.
Omaha's bullpen allowed just one earned run in the final five innings to secure the win, with left-hander Gabe Speier getting his first win of the season.
The series between Omaha and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will continue Saturday with game five. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with coverage starting at 6:45 p.m. on the on the Sarpy County Tourism Pregame Show on 1180 The Zone. The Storm Chasers are scheduled to send left-hander Austin Cox (3-6, 5.01) to the hill while the RailRiders are starting Shawn Semple.
Tomorrow night is Bands & Brews presented by J&M Displays and Werner Enterprises. There will be live music by Lucas Minor and craft specials from Nebraska Brewing Company. It is also bro tank giveaway, with the first 1,000 fans getting a Storm Chasers Bro Tank.
