Knights Beat the Stripers 4-2 on Wednesday

(LAWRENCEVILLE, GA) - Left fielder Adam Haseley was optioned back to the Charlotte Knights from the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. A night later, he picked up right where he left off with the Knights.

Haseley launched a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to lead the Knights to a 4-2 win over the Gwinnett Stripers in game two of the six-game series from Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA on Wednesday night. The home run broke a 2-2 tie and led the Knights to the game two victory.

Appearing in his first game with the Knights since June 17, Haseley hit his ninth home run of the season in the seventh inning of Wednesday's game off Gwinnett RHP Seth Elledge (1-3, 2.42). Haseley finished the game 1-for-3 with the two-run home run. He has now hit safely in six of his last seven games with the Knights.

RHP Davis Martin started for the Knights and was solid over four innings of work. Martin allowed just two runs on five hits. He struck-out seven batters and has now accumulated 24 strikeouts over his last three starts (12.2 innings pitched). He was unable to come back for a fifth inning as inclement weather forced the game to go into a delay in the top of the fifth frame. The delay lasted 54 minutes.

The Knights scored first on Wednesday and did so in the top of the fourth inning. Designated hitter Micker Adolfo hit an RBI single in the inning for Charlotte's first run of the game. Shortstop Zach Remillard, the next batter, added to Charlotte's one-run lead in the fourth inning with an RBI triple.

The Stripers quickly tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring two runs off Martin in the frame. Alex Dickerson and Ryan Casteel both doubled home runs in the inning for the Stripers to make it a 2-2 ballgame.

Charlotte RHP Daniel Winkler (3-0, 4.91) earned the win out of the Charlotte 'pen on Wednesday. He fanned two batters over a scoreless sixth inning. RHP Lincoln Henzman pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.

The Knights will continue the six-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers on Thursday night from Coolray Field.
