Gwinnett Stripers News Release

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Major League Baseball announced today the official rosters and coaching staffs for the 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Saturday, July 16 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Gwinnett Stripers manager Matt Tuiasosopo has been named to the coaching staff for the National League Team.

Tuiasosopo, 36, is the first active coach in Gwinnett history to participate in a Futures Game. He will serve as the third base coach on the staff led by former Major League manager Mike Scioscia.

Since being named the seventh manager in Gwinnett history on March 30, 2021, Tuiasosopo has led the Stripers to a 109-100 (.522) record over 209 games. On June 9, 2022 at Jacksonville, he became the fourth manager in Gwinnett history to reach 100 career wins, joining Dave Brundage (293 wins from 2009-12), Brian Snitker (161 wins from 2014-16), and Damon Berryhill (221 wins from 2017-19).

Tuiasosopo is both the youngest manager in Gwinnett history and the first former Gwinnett player to manage the club (played outfield and first base from 2016-17). Including his managerial debut with Class-A Rome in 2019 when he earned the Braves' Bobby Cox Award for Minor League Manager of the Year, he is 174-174 (.500) in 348 career games.

The Gwinnett Stripers play the Charlotte Knights in game three of a six-game series tonight at Coolray Field, first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all Stripers home games are on sale now at GoStripers.com.
