
Starters Strong Despite Sweep by Omaha

Toledo Mud Hens News Release
PAPILLION, NE - The Toledo Mud Hens were swept in a doubleheader against the Omaha Storm Chasers. In game one, The Storm Chasers claimed a 3-2 victory on a Brewer Hicklen walk-off single. In game two, the Storm Chasers locked down a 4-1 victory to sweep the doubleheader and take a 3-0 in the series.
GAME ONE - InGame one, the Storm Chasers defeated the Mud Hens 3-2. Chase Anderson got the start for the Mud Hens, pitching 5.0 shutout innings, allowing five hits, four walks and five strikeouts. Jose Cisnero made his second rehab appearance, pitching 0.2 inning, allowing two runs on two hits, with one strikeout. Derek Law was credited with his second loss of the season and is now 1-2. Law pitched 0.2 inning, surrendering the winning run on two hits.
Offensively for the Mud Hens, Jamie Westbrook got it started with a bases-loaded infield RBI single in the Top of the 1st inning, making it 1-0. Brendon Davis would hit an RBI double into the left field corner to make the score 2-0, which would be the last of Toledo's runs in game one. Davis, Westbrook and Ali Sanchez each tallied two hits, and Zack Short picked up a knock as well.
GAME TWO - In game two, the Storm Chasers defeated the Mud Hens 4-1. The Mud Hens went up early on a Josh Lester RBI double in the 1st inning, and then would surrender 4 unanswered runs. Nivaldo Rodriguez got the start for the Mud Hens, pitching 4.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, one home run, two walks and six strikeouts. Rodriguez was charged with the loss, he is now 3-6 on the season. Bryan Garcia pitched 1.1 innings of relief, allowing two runs on three hits, two walks and two strikeouts. Nolan Blackwood came in and pitched the final 0.1 inning.
Offensively for the Mud Hens, Josh Lester led the way with two hits including his RBI double. Akil Baddoo, Kerry Carpenter, Dustin Garneau and John Valente each tallied a hit for the Mud Hens.
WHAT'S NEXT - The Toledo Mud Hens will remain in Omaha for game four of a seven-game series with the Storm Chasers on Thursday night. First Pitch will be at 8:05 pm EST, (7:05 CST).
