Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Major League Baseball today announced that Indians right-handed starter Mike Burrows was among those selected to participate in the 2022 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, making him the first player from Indianapolis to earn a roster spot since first baseman Will Craig in 2019. The seven-inning, prospect-loaded contest will take place on Saturday, July 16 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Burrows, who is currently rated as Pittsburgh's No. 10 prospect by MLB Pipeline, was promoted from Double-A Altoona to Indianapolis on June 16 following a stellar start to the season. At the time of his promotion, he was tied for the Eastern League lead with 12 starts and also ranked sixth among league leaders with a 2.94 ERA (17er/52.0ip) and .199 average against, seventh with 69 strikeouts and 10th with a 1.10 WHIP.

The 22-year-old has made three starts with the Indians and is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA (8er/12.0ip) and 12 strikeouts. His best Triple-A outing came on June 25 vs. Memphis when he allowed just one run over 4.1 innings.

Burrows was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the 11th round (324th overall) of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Waterford (Conn.) High School.
