Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

Papillion, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers (40-39) took both games of a doubleheader against the Toledo Mud Hens (40-39). The Chasers won the opener 3-2 after a rain delay that was just short of an hour before taking game two 4-1. Omaha now controls the series 3-0 and the season series 5-3.

GAME ONE

The first game started off with the Mud Hens putting up a run in the first, using a pair of walks and two singles to go up 1-0.

Center fielder Roman Quinn started Omaha's half of the first with a walk before moving to second on a single from right fielder Nate Eaton. Both would end up stranded and leave the scoreboard still.

Another walk in the third for Toledo would come in to score on a stolen base and double.

Left-hander Daniel Lynch made his first rehab assignment start, going 3.0 innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts in the no decision.

In the fifth, Omaha put a couple of runners on base. A single from Eaton and a single from second baseman Michael Massey would start a rally, but the pair would end up stranded to leave the deficit at two.

Omaha kept Toledo off the scoreboard for the final four innings. Right-hander Zach Willeman (Win, 2-1) came in to pitch the seventh, striking out two.

Eaton singled to start the seventh before stealing second. Left fielder Brewer Hicklen hit a walk-off single to take game one of the doubleheader.

GAME TWO

The Mud Hens came out in the first and put together a walk and a couple hits to score another first-inning run.

Omaha wasted little time answering, putting up a tally in the bottom of the first. First baseman Nick Pratto hit his 15th long ball of the season to put the Chasers on the board.

In the second, third baseman Clay Dungan reached on a throwing error but was erased off the base paths on a force out from catcher William Hancock. Shortstop Angelo Castellano hit a doubled that scored Hancock and give Omaha the lead 2-1.

Left-hander Josh Dye (Win, 4-2) came in out of the bullpen and threw 1.2 innings, allowing just one hit with one strikeout.

Dungan hit a single to start the sixth, before Castellano moved him to second with a two-out single. Center fielder Dairon Blanco emptied the bases with a two-RBI double and give Omaha the 4-1 lead.

Right-hander Brad Peacock came in to throw the seventh and earn his fifth save of the season to secure the Storm Chaser win.
