Kansas City Falls 2-1 in Overtime to Allen on Friday Night at Cable Dahmer Arena

After a scoreless first period, David Cotton opened the scoring at 4:41 of the second period on the power play, with assists from Marcus Crawford and Jack Randl to give Kansas City a 1-0 lead. The goal was Cotton's 17th of the season and marked the Mavericks' lone tally of the night.

Allen answered early in the third period as Stange converted on the power play at 4:15 to tie the game at 1-1.

In overtime, Gildon scored on the power play at 4:58 to secure the 2-1 victory for Allen.

Jack LaFontaine made 36 saves on 38 shots in the overtime loss, earning second-star honors. Parsons stopped 25 of 26 shots to pick up the win.

Kansas City finished 1-for-4 on the power play, while Allen went 2-for-9 with the man advantage. The Mavericks were assessed 20 penalty minutes, compared to Allen's 10.

Allen outshot Kansas City 38-26, including 6-1 in overtime.

Kansas City returns home tomorrow night for a 6:05 p.m. puck drop at Cable Dahmer Arena for the Special Olympics Game of Emphasis.
