Last Weeks Highlights:
3/11/05 > Long Beach 2 vs. San Diego 3 (SO)
Returning home for the first of a three game series, the Ice Dogs fell to the San Diego Gulls in a shootout, 3-2. The Gulls scored the first two goals of the game, both by Joel Stepp. Trailing 2-0 in the third period, Marco Rosa finally got Long Beach on the board with eight minutes to go in the game. Less than three minutes later, Christian Larrivee tied it up to earn the Ice Dogs a point. However, after a scoreless overtime period the Gulls scored two in the shootout to escape with the win.
3/12/05 > Long Beach 3 vs. Alaska 4 (OT)
With a chance to tie Alaska for first in the West Division, the Ice Dogs fell to the Aces 4-3 in overtime. The teams traded goals back and forth with Joe Talbot scoring first for the Aces. In the second period, Marco Rosa tied it up at 5:26. At 16:43 Joe Talbot got his second of the game before Cory Urquhart tied it again just 16 seconds later. In the third, Michael Lambert gave the Ice Dogs a 3-2 lead, but Scott Gomez tied it with five minutes to go to send it into overtime. With just 56 seconds remaining in the overtime period, Cal Benazic won it for the Aces.
3/13/05 > Long Beach 2 vs. Las Vegas 4
Trying to avoid their fourth consecutive game without win, the Ice Dogs came up short against the Wranglers Sunday night by a score of 4-2. Las Vegas got on the board first 5:19 into the second period but Bill Lindsay tied things up less than two minutes later. Jason McBain then scored to give Las Vegas a 2-1 lead but Nathan Martz tied it again for the Ice Dogs. The Wranglers scored once more in the second to cap a five goal period and Dan Tudin sealed the win in the third. The Ice Dogs out-shot the Wranglers by a margin of 46-14 despite suffering the loss.

3/18/05 > Long Beach @ San Diego
The Ice Dogs will play their only game of the week in San Diego on Friday night, hoping to break their four game winless streak. The Ice Dogs are 1-3-1 this season against the Gulls. The teams will play two more times before the end of the regular season.
