Reading, PA â The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that forward Shawn Roed has been placed on the 7-day IR.
Speedy forward Shawn Roed has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve list retroactive to March 13. Roed has appeared in six games with Reading and chipped in three assists and 2 penalty minutes. The third-year pro was signed by the Royals on March 1. He began the season in the Southern Professional Hockey League with Fayetteville and Jacksonville. In 43 games, Roed scored 20 goals and 45 points along with 112 penalty minutes. The White Bear Lake, Minnesota native is eligible to return to the line up this Sunday when the Royals host North Division rival Trenton in the Sovereign Center at 5:05 p.m.
Reading and Peoria meet for the sixth time this season tonight in the Sovereign Center at 7:05 p.m. The Royals will be wearing special St. Patty's Day Jazz Fest jerseys, which will be auctioned off to benefit the Berks Arts Council. The Dayton Bombers return to Reading on Thursday, March 17, St. Patty's Day. The first 1,000 children, 12-and-under, receive a Royals Frisbee courtesy of St. Joseph's Medical Center. Trenton visits Reading on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. All Star Distributing is handing out Royals car flags to the first 1,500 adults, 21-and-over.
