Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. â The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, have announced that the organization has re-acquired the rights to defenseman Tom Reimann and traded forward Colin Shields to Greenville to complete the trade for center Jean-Francois Plourde. The move was necessitated after the ECHL voided the original trade between the clubs last Thursday.
Plourde, 23, has 12 goals and 26 points through 49 games this season including a goal and two assists in his first three games with Atlantic City. The second-year professional from Gaspe, PQ was a 2004 ECHL All-Star selection for the Columbus Cottonmouths last season and finished sixth overall on the team in scoring with 20 goals and 39 points in 65 games.
Shields, 25, recorded six goals and 18 points in 19 games with the Bullies following his acquisition from San Diego along with goaltender Trevor Koenig on February 4. The Glasgow, Scotland native has tallied nine goals and 32 points in 53 games this season,
Reimann, 26, has five assists and six points in 11 games for Atlantic City since he was acquired from Florida on February 4.
In a separate transaction, defenseman Vince Macri has been recalled by Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. Macri, 23, makes his third trip to Bridgeport this season. The Durham, NH native has five goals and 14 points in 49 games with the Bullies.
The Bullies continue their season-long nine-day, five game road trip at 7:30PM tonight against the Dayton Bombers from Hobart Arena in Troy, OH. Catch all the action live on ESPN Radio 1450AM and the SurferNetwork beginning with "Bullies Countdown" at 7:10PM.
