Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC â The Pee Dee Pride announced today that the team has acquired right-wing Lee Jacobson from the Mississippi Sea Wolves in exchange for future considerations.
The 23-year-old Jacobson appeared in 22 games with the Sea Wolves this season, accumulating 91 penalty minutes. Jacobson has been with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League since December 28, where he registered 104 penalty minutes.
Jacobson did not play professionally last season, but in his rookie season of 2002-03, he was tied for fourth in the Central Hockey League with 31 major penalties. He has also spent time as an amateur boxer, posting a record of 6-0 in the ring.
Pee Dee returns to the ice on Thursday, hosting the Greenville Grrrowl at 7:00. The Pride wrap-up their five-game home stand on Friday, taking on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:30. During both games this weekend, the Pride will wear special St. Patrick's Day jerseys, sponsored by Colortyme Rent-to-Own. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on these jerseys in a live auction following Friday's game, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Tickets for all remaining Pride home games are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
