Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA – Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that the team has traded center Shawn Mather to the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies and left wing Mike James to the Toledo Storm. The Chiefs will receive future considerations from both teams at the end of the 2004-2005 season.

"The ‘future considerations' involved in these deals is very substantial for next season and will help build a foundation for the 2005-2006," said O'Brien. "Both of these players, in particular Shawn Mather who already has a conditional deal in Europe next season have given a lot to the Chiefs over the last couple of years. They will both get an opportunity to hopefully make a good run in the post-season and we wish them nothing but the best."

Mather, 25, was tied for the Chiefs lead in scoring with 19 goals and 43 points in 56 games. Mather joined the Chiefs late in the 2002-2003 season. In 140 career games as a Chief, he had 45 goals and 105 points.
