TONIGHT: The Orlando Solar Bears (15-11-3-0) play the second of their three-in-three set against the Jacksonville Icemen (17-12-1-0) following last night's 4-3 win. Orlando holds a 3-1-0-0 lead in the 12-game regular season series with Jacksonville.
MONFREDO CONTINUES STRONG PLAY AGAINST ICEMEN: Although defensemen Michael Brodzinski and Cody Donaghey lead Orlando's blue line offensively for the season, Mike Monfredo leads the Solar Bears defensive corps against the Icemen this season. The veteran contributed another assist and a robust +3 in Thursday night's win, giving him four points (1g-3a) and a team-leading +6 through four games against Jacksonville this season.
MILLEN TO SEE FIRST MINUTES FOR ORLANDO: After Corbin Boes picked up the win in his first appearance against Jacksonville last night, recent acquisition Charlie Millen will get the start for Orlando tonight. Millen previously was on the team's roster during the 2016-17 season, but did not see playing time during his first stint with the club. Millen's lone ECHL appearance this season was coincidentally a 28-save effort against the Solar Bears while with the Worcester Railers on Nov. 18.
TAMMELA ROCKETS UP DECEMBER LEADER BOARD: With a hat trick performance in his return to the lineup on Thursday, Jonne Tammela (5g-5a) is one point behind Mathieu Foget (4g-7a) for the team point lead for the month of December, despite playing five fewer games. The Lightning prospect also has five points (4g-1a) in two games against Jacksonville this season.
