Fresno Falcons News Release
LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 0-2-0 OVERALL RECORD: 18-37-6, 42 pts.
March 12 @ San Diego, 4-1 Loss â Despite getting out-shot badly throughout most of the contest, the Falcons were still in the hockey game thanks to stellar goaltending from Mike Brusseau and a third period goal from Kris Porter that cut the Gulls' lead to 2-1. Fresno's hopes for a successful comeback were dashed, though, as San Diego eventually restored their two-goal edge and added an empty-netter for the final margin.
March 13 @ San Diego, 5-4 Loss â Fresno was forced to play catch-up again after giving-up three goals on its first five shots against. Eventually down, 4-1, mid-way through the second period, single goals each from the line of Mike Sandbeck, Michael Kiesman and John Wroblewski evened the game at four early in the third. Yet again the Gulls responded, though, notching the winner at 10:47 of the third.

NOTES
· Kris Porter scored for the third game in a row on Friday, giving him his second three-game goal streak of the season.
· Brian Passmore's power play goal on Saturday gave him the team lead with 16 tallies on the year.
· The Falcons' comeback on Saturday was all the more impressive considering they were playing with just three true defensemen and without team captain Jason Weaver, who left the game in the first with an injury.
· Fresno is 22nd (15.2%) on the power play and 23rd (80.9%) on the penalty kill.
· The Falcons begin the week in last place in the Pacific Division, five points behind the sixth-place Long Beach Ice Dogs and eight points behind the fifth-place Bakersfield Condors.
· With Fresno's two losses over the weekend and a victory by the fourth-place Alaska Aces on Saturday over the Cincinnati Cyclones, the Falcons were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
