Bullies To Unveil Face-Off Against Kids Cancer Jersey Tomorrow

March 15, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL invite members of the local media to a special presentation at 12:45PM tomorrow in the media room at Boardwalk Hall as the Bullies will unveil their special commemorative jersey in honor of "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer." The Bullies will wear these jerseys at home games this week against Johnstown on Wednesday and Peoria on Friday.

Bullies fans will have an opportunity to purchase these jerseys in a silent auction that will be held during both games on Wednesday and Friday, and then continuing in a live online auction at www.boardwalkbullies.com through March 31. The proceeds of the auction will benefit Caps For Kids, a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing hats signed by athletes and entertainers to kids who lose their hair due to chemotherapy treatments of cancer, and duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Winners of the jerseys will be announced by April 2.

Originated by the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL last season, "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" paired each Bullies player back in January with an area child who suffers from early stages of pediatric cancer. This personal relationship has developed through a series of social events over the last couple of months, in which the player and child have participated in a number of different activities together. Such events have included a "Meet and Greet Pizza Party" at Chuck E. Cheese in Mays Landing, a "Movie Matinee" at the Ventnor Movie Theater, a tour of the Bullies locker room following a game, and most recently a "Sunday Sundae Social" this past Sunday at the Egg Harbor City Volunteer Ambulance Facility.

The Bullies host the Johnstown Chiefs at 7:05PM on Wednesday at Boardwalk Hall. Every Wednesday home game this season is a Wild Wednesday sponsored by Coors Light and Molson Canadian. For more information or to order tickets, call (609) 348-PUCK.
