March 15, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greensboro Generals News Release
GREENSBOROâ The Greensboro Generals have 13 games remaining in the 2003-04 ECHL regular season, five of which will be played at the Greensboro Coliseum, giving fans an opportunity to participate in upcoming promotions.
Ladies, Are you ready to learn everything you ever wanted to know about hockey WITHOUT lacing up your skates? Yes, that's right! It's time for the 3rd Annual Women's Hockey Clinic with the Generals!! This year's clinic will be held on Tuesday March 16th from 5:15 pm - 8:00 pm at the Greensboro Coliseum. (Sorry for the short notice, but this turned out to be the only night we could get ice time!) We'll start the night in the Blue Room (also known as the Officer's Club) where we'll eat delicious Papa John's pizza. Once registration is complete (and stomachs are full!), we'll break everyone into groups and introduce you to the player who will serve as your tour guide for the night. We'll have four stations this year including an opportunity to talk strategy with Coach Adduono and a tour of the locker room. Cost for the clinic is $10 for season ticket holders and $12 for non-season ticket holders and includes a Generals' t-shirt and a ticket to the Generals' game on Monday March 22nd (a rescheduled matchup between our rival, the Charlotte Checkers). Now remember, you don't have to lace up your skates to take part in this clinic so "I can't skate!" is no excuse! Don't miss a great "girls night out" so sign up today! To register (or to ask additional questions), call Ashley Terry at (336) 373-7479. We'll see you at the rink!!
In their first game back at the Greensboro Coliseum since February 28th, Generals fans will be treated to a St. Patrick's Day Bash facing off against the Greenville Grrrowl. Fans will have an opportunity to purchase $1 draft beer sponsored by R.H. Barringer Distribution. Live music will be on the Coliseum concourse, courtesy of "Miles Apart." The Generals are also offering student tickets for a special discounted rate of $5.
After a two game road series at the Florida Everblades, the Generals return on March 22nd at 7 p.m., Greensboro will face-off against the Charlotte Checkers, in a game originally scheduled for February 26th. A divisional match-up that will feature two teams locked in a battle for the final playoff seed in the Southern Division, Greensboro will also have the opportunity to maintain possession of the Carolina Cup. The Carolina Cup is handed out annually to the overall winner of the Greensboro-Charlotte series.
On the following night, Greensboro will host the Greenville Grrrowl, as the Generals host Guns & Hoses night. Fans and local businesses are encouraged to participate in a $3 group rate for those parties of 10-persons or more. Also available will be the opportunity for purchase of a Family 4-pack of tickets (including four soft drinks, four hot dogs, and four tickets) all for $25.
The Generals close out the 2003-04 regular season campaign on March 28th with a Chick-Fil-A Family Day. Again, families can purchase a Family 4-pack of tickets (including four soft drinks, four hot dogs, and four tickets) all for $25. All children under-12 will be admitted for $1; and a special $3 group rate for those parties of 10-persons or more will again be available. A post-game skate with the Generals is being offered after the game, and fans will need to bring their own skates in order to participate. Playing on the Coliseum concourse for fans enjoyment will be beach music courtesy of Johnny & The Cadillacs.
