Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - With the ECHL trading deadline less than 24 hours away, the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL have announced a pair of trades. The Bullies have acquired forward Nick Parillo from Toledo in exchange for future considerations, and goaltender Bujar Amidovski from Dayton, also for future considerations. Parillo and Amidovski are expected to make their Bullies debut on Wednesday when Atlantic City hosts Johnstown.
The acquisition of Parillo marks the second trade between the Bullies and the Storm in the last 10 days. On March 5, Atlantic City acquired the rights to Alexandre Jacques in exchange for John Longo and Danny Eberly. Parillo, 26, leaves Toledo tied for the team lead in assists with 30 and ranks third in scoring with 19 goals and 49 points.
A native of Schenechtedy, NY, Parillo is in his second professional season following a four-year collegiate career at Merrimack College. As a rookie last year, Parillo helped Toledo capture the Brabham Cup as the ECHL's regular season champions, leading the team in scoring with 23 goals and 61 points.
Amidovski, 27, was 10-14-3 in 28 games for Dayton with a 3.26 goals against average and a .897% save percentage. The Toronto, ON native was in his first season with the Bombers after going 11-13-0 last year with Port Huron of the United Hockey League. A five-year pro, Amidovski's best season came in 1999-00 with Trenton when he went 19-11-3 with a 2.49 goals against average and a .918% save percentage.
Looking to repeat as Kelly Cup Champions, the Bullies have made four trades in the last 10 days. Atlantic City acquired defenseman Marc St. Jean from Augusta on Thursday.
The Bullies return to Boardwalk Hall at 7:05PM this Wednesday to battle the Johnstown Chiefs. Every Wednesday home game this season is a Wild Wednesday sponsored by Coors Light and Molson Canadian. Wednesday will be the first of two games that the Bullies will wear special commemorative jerseys in honor of Face-Off Against Kids Cancer. Those jerseys will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting Caps For Kids and duPont Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. For more information or to order tickets, call (609) 348-PUCK.
