
Roster Changes Continue For Royals Prior to Playoff Push

READING, PA â The Reading Royals, ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have announced that forward Judd Medak has been returned to the club from the AHL's Syracuse Crunch. Goaltender Terry Denike has been recalled by the Manchester Monarchs, the Royals American Hockey League affiliate, and assigned to the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL. Finally, Defenseman Eric Lind has been placed on the suspended list.
Medak, 25, returns to the Royals after six games with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. In six appearances, Medak posted three assists and 16 penalty minutes. He has appeared in 14 AHL games this season with Manchester, Hershey and Syracuse, posting a total of three assists and 22 minutes in penalties. The Vancouver, British Columbia native has suited up for 40 games with Reading this year and accounted for 19 goals and 42 points with 58 penalty minutes. Medak ranks third on the team with six power play goals and a +11 rating. He is expected to rejoin the team tomorrow prior to the Royals game versus Peoria.
Denike, 23, has appeared in five games with Reading this season. He has a record of 1-1-1 with 3.49 goals against average and .899 save percentage. The ex-Lake Superior State University Laker has been recalled by the Manchester Monarchs and assigned to the Fresno Falcons. Denike's playing time had been limited with the addition of Peter Hamerlik (Boston) and Tom Lawson (Colorado).
Royals defenseman Eric Lind has been suspended by the team. Lind was acquired with forward Chris Lynch from the Greenville Grrrowl for forward Nick Lent and ECHL All-Star defenseman Jonathan Zion on February 3, 2004.
Tuesday night heats up in the Sovereign Center as the Reading Royals clash with Northern Division foe Peoria for the final time this season. The first 2,000 fans through the gate receive Reading Eagle Royals team posters. The Royals will be wearing special First Energy Jazz Fest Jerseys during the game. There will be a live jersey auction at center ice at the conclusion of the game.
