
Four Mud Hens Named to IL All-Star

TOLEDO, OH - Four players from Toledo have been named to the 2018 International League All-Star Roster.
The squad of thirty-three standouts will suit up against the Pacific Coast League's best at the Huntington Bank Triple-A All-Star Game, presented by Gildan. The 31st annual gathering of the classification's top stars will take place at Huntington Park in downtown Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, July 11 at 7:00 EDT.
The League's winningest clubs will be well represented, highlighted by the West Division leading Toledo Mud Hens with an IL-best four All-Stars. Two-time Triple-A All-Star Chad Huffman returns to the event as the elected designated hitter for the International League, alongside IL long ball leader Christin Stewart, an elected outfielder, elected shortstop Ronny Rodriguez, and selected outfielder Jim Adduci.
Chad Huffman
The 33-year-old infielder from Houston, Texas is in his second season with Toledo and thirteenth as a pro baseball player. He's currently third in the IL with a .388 on-base percentage. Had a 7-RBI performance on May 24 at Columbus. Hit a grand slam on May 23 at Columbus.
Christin Stewart
The 24-year-old outfielder from Atlanta, Georgia is in his first season with Toledo and fourth as a pro baseball player. He currently leads the IL with 15 home runs, is third in the IL with 45 RBI, tied for third in the IL with 72 games played, fourth in the IL with a .504 slugging percentage, tied for first in the IL with 135 total bases, fourth in the IL with 34 base on balls, and fifth in the Il with 31 extra-base hits. Is the fifth ranked Tigers prospect according to MLB.com.
Ronny Rodriguez
The 26-year-old infielder from Santiago, Dominican Republic is in his first year with Toledo and eighth as a pro baseball player. He's currently tied for second in the IL with a .315 batting average, second in the IL with a .528 slugging percentage, and fourth in the IL with 4 triples. Was named IL Player of the Month in May. Hit for the cycle with 5 hits on May 30 at Syracuse.
Jim Adduci
The 33-year-old outfielder from Burnaby, British Columbia is in his second season with Toledo and fifteenth as a pro baseball player. He's currently fourth in the IL with a .306 batting average, third in the IL with 21 doubles, fourth in the IL with 45 RBI, and fifth in the IL with 77 hits. Has 21 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games this season.
The 2018 International League All-Star squad is made up of 13 elected players who have received the most votes from ballots submitted by club's field managers and general managers (1/3), members of the media (1/3), and online fan voting (1/3). The elected players are joined by 20 additional All-Stars selected by the International League office. Each of the IL's fourteen clubs will be represented in Columbus. The members of the IL squad hail from eight different countries including the U.S. (from fifteen different states), Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Lithuania, and Mexico.

The International League had been victorious in four straight Triple-A All-Star Games before dropping last season's battle in Tacoma, Washington. The IL owns a 12-8 advantage in the two decades since the event changed to the current International League vs. Pacific Coast League format.
The Huntington Bank Triple-A All-Star Game presented by Gildan will be broadcast live on MiLB.TV and the Triple-A All- Star Game Radio Network on July 11 and will be broadcast on MLB Network on July 18. All-Star festivities in Columbus begin with the Triple-A All-Star Home Run Derby and Skills Competition on Monday, July 9, part of the 10th season celebration for Huntington Park that will include hosting the 2018 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game in September.
