Cole to SWB RailRiders on Rehab Assignment

MOOSIC, PA. - New York Yankees pitcher A.J. Cole will join the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders tonight to begin a rehab assignment. The RailRiders play at Lehigh Valley in Allentown with a first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Cole, acquired from the Washington Nationals on April 24, 2018, for cash considerations, was placed on the 10-Day Disabled List by New York on June 21 retroactive to June 20. The right-hander is recovering from a left neck strain. Cole was 1-1 for the Nationals over four games, including two starts, with a 13.50 earned run average. Since the trade, he has gone 1-0 with an 0.69 ERA over seven relief outings for the Yankees with 15 strikeouts and six walks.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will return home after this series in Allentown, returning to PNC Field on Friday, June 29, to open a series against the Pawtucket Red Sox. Tickets are available online now at swbrailriders.com.
