Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the third game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field. Following their tilt with the PawSox, the Herd will head up the 90 to Syracuse to face the Chiefs June 29-30 and July 1. It will represent the first trip to Syracuse for the Bisons in the 2018 season.

Last Night's Game: BUF 3, PAW 1

RHP Sean Reid-Foley earned his fourth quality start in yesterday's victory. The righty went 6.2IP, 6H, 1R/ER, 2BB, 8SO. LHP Jake Fishman made his Triple A debut last night coming out of the bullpen and achieved his first hold and had a strikeout in 1.2 innings of work. INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 3-5 yesterday with his sixth double on the season. Buffalo secured the win with a two-run home run by OF Anthony Alford.

Pawtucket (6-8)

The Bisons and PawSox last played each other June 19-21 where Pawtucket took three of the four games. Buffalo looks for redemption as they now play host to their division rival. In 12 games against the Sox, C Danny Jansen is 19-41 (.463) with eight extra-base hits and a .560 on-base percentage. The two teams will close out their season series in Buffalo August 24-27.

Today's Starter: RHP Chris Rowley

RHP Chris Rowley takes the mound tonight looking to pick up his first win against Pawtucket this season. The righty's last outing came on 6/22 against LHV where he went 6.2IP, 8H, 5R/4ER, 4BB, and 2SO. In the month of June, Rowley pitched 26.1 innings in 4 games for the Herd where he has 23H, 12R/10ER, 12BB, and 15SO.

Anthony Alford

OF Anthony Alford went 2-4 with a two-run home run in yesterday's win against Pawtucket. The outfielder recorded his 12th RBI on the season. In Alford's last 5 games he is hitting a .278 with 5 hits, 3 RBIs, and a homerun.

Bisons' Bits

C Danny Jansen and INF Jason Leblebijian will represent the Bisons in the 2018 All-Star Game on 7/11. Jansen is leading the team in batting average (.299), hits (58), and RBIs (39). The backstop also is in the IL top ten in batting ranking 9th and is second in on base percentage with .413. Leblebijian leads the Herd in runs (33) and homeruns (10). The righty is a versatile player that has played at several different positions for Buffalo making him a valuable asset to the team's success.

Transactions

LHP Ryan Borucki joined Toronto on 6/26 making his MLB debut against Houston, and C Michael De La Cruz was activated from the DL.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

INF Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s single in the first gave the Bisons an early 1-0 lead. The infielder finished the game going 3-5 with a double and a RBI. This is the most hits Gurriel Jr. has had in a game so far this season. Gurriel Jr. is second on the Bisons in batting average with a .295...

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (37-42) lost the second game of their three-game series against the Houston Astros. LHP Ryan Borucki made his MLB debut going 6.0IP, 6H, 2R/ER, 4BB, 3SO and was credited with the loss. The Blue Jays offense couldn't string together anything and had a total of 5 hits through the whole game. Toronto looks to bounce back today with RHP Marco Estrada facing off against LHP Dallas Keuchel at 2:10 p.m.
