Five LumberKings Selected for MWL All-Star Game

Clinton, IA - Five Clinton LumberKings have been selected to the Western Division roster of the 49th Annual Midwest League All-Star Game on Tuesday, June 18 in Dayton, Ohio. Dario Pizzano, Tyler Marlette, Jabari Henry, Tyler Pike and Dylan Unsworth will represent the LumberKings in the showcase of the Midwest League's best players. Players are voted on by league managers.

Dario Pizzano was the only LumberKing position player chosen for the starting lineup of the Western Division All-Stars. The outfielder is batting .301 on the season, playing in a team-high 52 games. Pizzano, 22, is tied for second in the Midwest League with 17 doubles on the year. The Massachusetts native also leads the LumberKings in hits (55), runs scored (31), and runs batted in (31).

Tyler Marlette and Jabari Henry were chosen as reserves on the Western Division All-Star roster. Marlette, 20, was one of only two Western Division catchers selected for the showcase. The backstop is batting .324 and has reached safely in 29 of 32 games, including his first 19 games to start ‘13. Marlette leads MWL Catcher's with a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Henry, 22, will be one of the reserve outfielders in Dayton. Henry is batting .339 in 33 games with a team-high on-base percentage of .453. Henry has launched four home runs, including a multi-home run game on May 2nd. Henry spent two weeks on the disabled list in May but still has 13 multi-hit games.

Tyler Pike and Dylan Unsworth were the two LumberKings' pitchers selected to the All-Star Game. Pike, 19, has a 3-3 record with a 2.85 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 47 1/3 innings. The lefty leads the league with the lowest batting average allowed by any MWL starter as opponents are hitting just .194. Pike went 18 2/3 consecutive innings from May 8-25 without allowing a run.

Unsworth, 20, has a perfect 4-0 record on the year, with the lowest ERA of any Mariners' minor league starter at 2.25. The native of South Africa has not walked a batter since April 14th. He leads the Midwest League with the fewest baserunners per nine innings and fewest walks per nine innings. In 56 innings, the right-hander has walked two and struck out 37.
